Let’s talk deserts for weddings, mainly wedding cake. You know many people find that the same old wedding cakes are just getting a bit boring. The typical wedding cake loaded with icing and fondant looking like a piece of sugar artwork it is often passed by guests. If you are going to do a wedding cake think about a Naked Cake.
Naked cakes are essentially cakes that do not have an outside frosting or coating. The baker must be very skillful to build a cake that is moist on its own and not rely on the frosting to give it that smooth texture that we all love in a glorious cake. People also feel better about eating a cake that is less heavy and better for you. When you feel better, you look better and you tend to engage in the actives more which equates to great memories.
Try something new, instead of one large cake put an individual cake on each table for the guests to share. The 
cakes make a beautiful center piece and people serve themselves. Now here is the fun twist. Have a different type cake one each table. Then encourage people to visit other tables if they like the cake on a different table better. How much fun is it to see people mingling and talking to one another about the cakes?
If your group is kind of rowdy tell them if they want the bride and groom to kiss they need to do a Cake Kiss first. Ok what is a cake kiss you ask? A couple (guests) stand up and they feed each other a piece of cake (usually with a little panache) then they kiss. This can be hilarious. If the bride and groom thinks that they were exceptionally entertaining, they reward the couple (and entertain the guests) by doing a great kiss to show their appreciation. If the Cake Kiss was kind of lame maybe the bride and groom could just shake hands with one another; you know, burn them.
